Pussycat Dolls Drama strikes... Again

Category: By Mircea
As most of you already know, the all-girl group Pussycat Dolls has been involved in some serious drama and gossip lately. And, unless you've been living under a rock, you know that everybody's talking 'round about a specific Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of the group.

Let me fill you in... it all started with the release of 'Doll Domination', the girls' second album. As soon as it came out, fans and critics alike were a bit harsh with the material, because Scherzinger received too much credit and she was singing most of the songs by herself, with the other girls sometimes not eve opening their mouths for the smallest sound. In spite of the solo tracks, that each doll recorded, mouths were still chatting about a 'Nicole Domination', which was set to soon light up some harsh moments.

After going on tour to promote their newly released album and after having some sold-out shows all-over Europe, the girls were headed to the U.S, where they would support Britney on her 'Circus' tour. Meanwhile, another single was released, 'Jai Ho!'... and there was a very interesting line in the promotional cover: 'feat. Nicole Scherzinger'. Weird, considering that they were all a group. Still, it was left aside and it was thought that it was all just a mess, mostly 'cause Nicole wrote the song herself and sung it herself and that's why she was exclusively featured. All good, until the release of their next single's cover: 'Hush Hush (Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger)'. Again, the same thing.

Until now, things were already heated up. Sources claim that the group wasn't all that friend-ish behind the scenes and only showed their happy faces whilst on stage. The dolls were invited to many shows and gave a lot of interviews to confront these rumours and clear the air, one of them being their latest radio interview, which you can listen to HERE! Really good job of covering up... that's if there was anything to cover.

Here is a recent burst that Melody Thornton had at a concert in Phoenix, Arizona, her and Ashlee Roberts' home town... deff the boiling point.

She sounded dead serios and she even seemed angry about it. From the gestures, to her voice tone and the high-fiving with friend Jessica Sutta, it all seemed freakin' weird!

My spin on this drama is: I trully think that this isn't Nicole's fault. Their record company is the one to blame. The girls knew what they were signing up for... and hey, let them be mad, they have every reason to do that. Go insane, go beat someone up... but don't get upset on Nicole. I trully don't want to believe that she is behind all this or that she is hand in hand with the record company. She's the lead singer, it's her job to be up-front in the shows and have most of the say.
I feel like 'Pussycat World' is coming to an end... too bad. Maybe with their 3rd album they'll be back on track. But I'll say it again: I don't think Scherzinger is the reason that all of this is happening... blame it on the rec company. They don't know how to show the talents that the other girls have.

Here's to a bright future for them...
What do you think about all this?

Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush [official artwork]

Category: By Mircea

Here is the official artwork for Hush Hush, the official next single from Pussycat Dolls. It has the same style that DD imposed and haters are already talking trash about it. And I'm gonna say this once more: the reason that 'feat. Nicole Scherzinger' is written there is to highlight the fact that Nic is the only one singing and the other girls are just dancing; just like 'Jai Ho!'.

Anyway... Robin Antin, founder of PCD declared that this will be the greatest video that the girls ever made and it will feature a lot of cameos, including one with Perez Hilton. The shoot will take place in 2 weeks. And Robin also said that the next album will feature more vocals, especially from Jessica & Melody, so I'm looking forward to everything they're planning.

And check out this live performance of 'Jai Ho!' that recently took place on Ellen DeGeneres' show. It might even be their best interpretation of this song yet, with great vocals from Nicole.

What do you think about the cover and the performance?

Pussycat Dolls - Hush Hush [new single]

Category: By Mircea
Who: Pussycat Dolls
What: Hush Hush [new single]
Album: Doll Domination

The Pussycat Dolls are releasing single no. 5 off their latest album, 'Doll Domination'. Hush Hush has been chosen for promotion. It's a been a fan favorite from the very beginning and it even charted in some countries (for example, Russia, where it hit number 1). I can't tell you though if they are going to release the official version, or the remixed one that they promoted while on tour; American radio stations have announced that both are going to be promoted, so there still is a question mark there.
The single will be up for grabs after it's official release, on April 28th, and also a video will be shot, with the same guy that produced WIGU and IHTP being in charge, Joseph Khan.

Let me remind you that the Dolls are re-releasing DD under the name 'Doll Domination 2.0' and they are also planning an extension of the 'DD Tour', coming back in Europe for an extra number of concerts.

So, whatcha think about 'Hush Hush'?

Hate it or Love it?

Pussycat Nicole Going Solo... Again?!

Category: , By Mircea
Here is what the lead Pussycat, Nicole Scherzinger, declared, while promoting 'Doll Domination 2.0':
Chief Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger says her long-awaited solo album "may come more sooner than later," but after two years of projected release dates and delays she's not about to set one now.

"I think it'll just come out when it wants to come out, on its own," Scherzinger tells Billboard.com. "I'm still working on my album, and I'm very excited. I'm a relentless perfectionist. I get one chance to put out a first (solo) album, so when the right time comes I will put it out."

Scherzinger has been working on the album, tentatively titled "My Name is Nicole," since 2006. She's released several singles -- "Whatever U Like," "Baby Love," "Puakenikeni" and "Supervillian" -- while several of the other songs considered for the project turned up on the Dolls' 2008 released "Doll Domination." The current incarnation of the album, she says, "is just in the works and in talks and in the writing process. I haven't started recording yet." She hopes to hit the studio in the summer, after the Dolls finish their run opening for Britney Spears and then tour Europe again.

"I'll be excited to get back with old friends -- will.i.am., Timbaland," says Scherzinger. She also plans to work with good pal Lady Gaga and hopes to continue a new association with Academy Award-winning Indian composer A.R. Rahman, who collaborated with Scherzinger and the Dolls on an English version of his "Slumdog Millionaire" track "Jai Ho!"
Hmmm... interesting. After really flopping last year with the release of first 3 singles it really takes some guts to try your luck once more, especially when people really identify you as being part of a group. Still, I declare myself happy, 'cause I also liked the production of her previous efforts and how everything turned out to sound like. And anyway, she also declared sometime ago that she'll do a parallel job with working on her solo album, the group's album and also maybe produce solo albums for the other girls. Really looking forward to some of her new stuff.
What about you?

Pussycat Dolls ' We Love To Entertain You' Commercial

Category: By Mircea
The Pussycat Dolls filmed a commercial break for the German TV station PRO7. What was thought to be a shoot for 'Takin' Over the World', turned out to be just a promoting campaign for the station's saying: 'We Love To Entertain You'.
Using TOTW, the girls changed the lyrics so to fit the original song. And the result is amazing. And I mean the visuals that came out. Great future theme and the directing of the whole commercial is great. It even looks better than some of their previous videos...lol. Still, I'm hoping this isn't it and waiting for the full-length version 'cause they really made me curious.

Pussycat Dolls - Painted Windows [new track]

Category: By Mircea
Who: Pussycat Dolls
What: Painted Windows [new track]
Album: Doll Domination 2.0 [out April 14th]

As I was telling you a few days ago, the Dolls are set to re-release their sophomore effort on April 14th: 'Doll Domination 2.0'. And one of the brand new tracks off this album is the Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins produced Painted Windows.
Awesome track, and you can deff hear Melody and Jess sing their parts here. And Mel really has a lot of solos. With the right promotion and a killer video, this album might do even better than the original.

Pussycat Dolls Album Re-Release: Doll Domination 2.0

Category: By Mircea
So the rumours are true. The Pussycat Dolls are actually re-releasing their sophomore effort on April 14th: 'Doll Domination 2.0'.
Usually, you re-release an album when its sales exceeded the numbers you had in mind, but this one sold..I don't know...1 million and a half units maybe...worldwide. But, considering that the other tracks that they released after the album were highly appreciated and most of their concerts were sold out, I would say the decision is fair. Only one thing that I would've done different: they should've milked the original material a lot more! Promote 'Bottle Pop' in the U.S. with Snoop Dogg and a better video, release other fan favorites such as 'Halo' or 'Takin' Over the World', boost your sales way up high and then release it again with those extra tracks that had enough time to get high in the charts. But Interscope really messed up this extremely under-rated album, so no wonder they are doing this.
Anyway, the album will have some extra material, like 'Jai Ho', 'Top Of the World', 'Hush Hush (remix)' and a new track called 'Painted Windows', next to some fan favorites and other DD songs. Hope these new songs will al lbe promoted with a decent video and receive enough airplay to save this mess that their record company created!

Pussycat Dolls - Jai Ho [video]

Category: By Mircea

Who: A.R.Rahman & Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger
What: Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny!)

So the video for Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny) premiered one week earlier than officially announced, but I guess no one is upset about that..lol.
About it, it's amazing. I really didn't expect something like this. The fact that they've diverted off the only-dancing track they followed until now and really tried to set up a script and a story makes it even more attractive. The dolls all look stunning in those Indian-inspired suits and so far the video has received great reviews from critics and fans alike. It was directed by Thomas Kloss, who was also in charge of 'Bottle Pop', only this time he did it way better.
Still, some people complain about the fact that Nicole is shown too much here. Let me give it to you like this and set things straight for once. First of all, it says 'feat. Nicole Scherzinger' to make it crystal clear that she's the only one singing. And second of all, apart from Jai Ho, the girls all signed contracts... and even if Nic would like to go in the back, she won't be able to do anything about it. She was chosen to represent the group because of her ability to dance and sing in the same time and still put on a great show. And believe me, everyone likes to see Jess, Ashley, Mel and Kimberly dance their socks off everytime, so they'll never work separately.

Now, back to the video...

Pussycat Dolls perform 'Jai Ho' live!

Category: By Mircea
The all-girl group Pussycat Dolls performed last night for the very first time, Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny!), live, on Jimmy Fallon's show! Wearing some indian inspired costumes, they delivered a great performance..from the clothes, to the dancing and the singing it all went smooth.

Still, I would have some things to complain about. For starters, if the other girls won't even sing, at least don't give them mics, like in 'Bottle Pop'. And a little bit more work on the show itself might give them a boost. But still, being the first performance ever, I give them credit for pulling it off so well. The look like they are having lots of fun performing those Indian moves.

Update: The official video is set to have its premiere on March 21st, so be sure to check in!

Pussycat Dolls On Set of 'Jai Ho'

Category: By Mircea
Check out the Pussycat Dolls on the set of their upcoming video, 'Jai Ho'. The shooting took place in the same time with the Oscars and it all happened while Rahman was receiving the Academy Award for this track.
You can see the girls gettin' a kick out of it in Vienna, Austria. The video should come out in a few days, so stay tuned!

Pussycat Dolls 'Jai Ho' Video Shoot

Category: By Mircea
The Pussycat Dolls shot the video for the remix track Jai Ho. The shoot took place yesterday in Vienna, where the girls also held a concert, part of their 'Doll Domination World Tour'. The video is set to premiere somewhere in March. The track has already been sent to radio stations and since today it is available on iTunes...so support Rahman and the girls and buy the song.

Down low you have the official artwork, which I don't really get...so it says 'A.R. Rahman & The Pussycat Dolls feat. Nicole Scherzinger'..i'm a liitle bit confused...isn't Nic part of the Dolls?..so why the extra 'featuring' part...? Anyway, can't wait to see the vid!

Pussycat Dolls Promoting 'Jai Ho'

Category: By Mircea
According to OnlyVipMedia, A.R. Rahman (the original producer) and the Pussycat Dolls will get together this week to shoot the video for Jai Ho, the track off 'Slumdog Millionaire' OST, a song also nominated at the Oscars.
The video will be shot this week so expect to see it in less than a month and for more promotional purposes, the girls will perform the track thursday on 'The Tonight Show'. Also, the song will be sent to radio stations in early March.

I'm really enjoying the fact that they're taking this song and getting the best out of it. Can't wait to see the video and especially to watch them sing this live!

Pussycat Dolls New Tracks & News

Category: By Mircea
As I was telling you in the previous posts, Pussycat Dolls are one of the artists that participated at the 'Confessions Of a Shopaholic' OST recording. Surprisingly, their track is called Bad Girl. So..what was thought to be Rihanna and hubby's track was just a tryout, as the official version went to the Pussycat Dolls. Although I really miss CB's rap part, the vocals here are much more stronger, with girls like Nicole and Melody giving their best. So, thumbs up for this one.
Hate it or love it? [radio rip]

Another OST track belonging to the girls is actually a remix for Jai Ho, onf of the songs from 'Slumdog Millionaire' OST. Amazing track. A very catchy tune, that deff gets you from the very first listen. Those Asian-type kind of instrumentals are worth a listen.
Hate it or love it?

With the Doll Domination Tour already in progress in Europe, an extention has already been announced for the summer of '09! Their current hit single, 'I Hate This Part' is receiving massive airplay, charting #11 on the Billboard Top 100. 'Whatcha Think About That' is getting great acclaims in the UK and there also is a future single rumour: Magic (hope this is true!).
So, everything's going North for them. Just because of that, rumours of 2 new albums are already surfing the internet. A 'Best-Of' with an imaginary playlist has been found on the internet and also a re-release of their sophomore effort, 'Doll Domination', containing these brand new tracks that keep popping up all over the place.
Honestly, I hope all this rumours are true, but still, I wouldn't get too psyched...

Pussycat Dolls - Bottle Pop [video]

Category: By Mircea
Who: Pussycat Dolls
What: Bottle Pop [video]
Album: Doll Domination
Song rating: 4/5
Video rating: 3.5/5

The video I've been expecting for so long finally premiered. And damn, am I disappointed! I mean, great song, great club jam, but I don't know. There's something missing. It had such huge potential but I don't know what happened.
The girls are hot, the dancing is sick, but I was expecting a little bit more from directing and better shots. Anyway, I hope it still does good on the charts.
This here is a recorded version from the premiere of the vid. I'll update with the HQ asap!
What do you think?
Also, down low, you can check out the urban remix of the track, feat. Snoop Dogg & Kardinall Offishall.
Hate it or love it?

Update: I've updated the post with the HQ video. It has been confirmed that the US version of the clip will aso feature rapper Snoop Dogg!

Pussycat Dolls - Bottle Pop [video sneak peak!]

Category: By Mircea
After a few photos of Nicole getting some make-up on the set of Bottle Pop video, a preview was released on YouTube yesterday..a very short one..11 sec...still, you can create a picture of what it's going to be like.
All of the girls look H-O-T!

According to Wiki, the video is supposed to be out in 2 days, on the 16th...not so sure about that though. Make-up artist Troy Jensen said about the vid that it is "everything that the song is - fun and sexy".
Anyway, check out the sneak peak down low and the pic's of Nicole at the top of the post.

The Pussycat Dolls - Top Of the World [new song]

Category: By Mircea
Who: The Pussycat Dolls
What: Top Of the World [new song]
Album: - [Theme song for 'The City']
Song rating: 4.5/5

English: Seems like the girls just can't stop recording new music after their 'Doll Domination' release. This is a new track, called Top Of the World. It will serve as the official theme song for a brand new MTV show, called 'The City', which premiered yesterday, a spin-off of 'The Hills'.
Damn, it's so catchy! I love it...very upbeat and alert track. You know what the best thing is? Absolutely all the dolls seem to be singing :X. Now, just to make my first New Year's days better, don't you think a promotional clip with the girls would be perfect? :>
Check out the track below and also the DL.
Hate it or love it?

Am aici o noua piesa. numita Top Of the World. Va fi melodia oficiala a unui nou show marca MTV, numit 'The City', ce a avut premiera azi noapte..un fel de continuare la 'The Hills'.
E foarte addictive piesa!

Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg - Bottle Pop [new single]

Category: , By Mircea
Who: The Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg
What: Bottle Pop [new single]
Album: Doll Domination
Song rating: 4.5/5

English: Bottle Pop (feat. Snoop Dogg) will be the Dolls' 4th official single pulled off their sophomore effort , 'Doll Domination'. The first choice was 'Takin' Over the World', but BP received greater acclaims from their fans and already gained some airplay in a few countries, even though it wasn't even released.
So happy for this! The track will be released in Europe and North Amerca sometime next year (January, February), because IHTP is still rolling around in the charts here.
This is the second time for Snoop working with the dolls, after their massive worldwide succes 'Buttons'.
I hope that the video is going to be one hell of a eye-catcher, to match this hot song. Their live performances of BP were great, so it should do very good in the charts. You can listen to the song down low.
Hate it or love it?

Romana: Bottle Pop (feat.

Pusscat Dolls Live@4Music

Category: By Mircea
English: The Pussycat Dolls were invited at 4Music, where they were interviewed and also performed 'Don't Cha', 'I Hate This Part' & 'When I Grow Up'. I posted this mainly for the WIGU which I believe is one of their best to date, because they all sound extremely good singing live and you can even sense the harmony that their voices form :X.

When I Grow Up

I Hate This Part' & 'When I Grow Up'.

PCD feat. Missy Elliott - Whatcha Think About That [Live @ 'Dancing With The Stars']

Category: , By Mircea

English: Another first time performance. This time, The Pussycat Dolls performed their song 'Whatcha Think About That' on the TV-Show 'Dancing With The Stars'. Missy Elliott was there, great as always (lypsincing, but still...).
I gotta say that after this performance, I now see the actual reason for Nicole being the lead singer and representing the group on stage. Her charisma, her acting, her presence, her voice..it was amazing. Melody killed it with the vocals at the end :X You go girl! Too bad we don't get to see the other girls dancing, 'cause the dance is great! But we can hear all of them sing! :X Check it out.
Hate it or love it?

Romanian: O alta premiera in materie de melodii live.
:X. Uitati-va si voi.

PCD Official Single

Category: By Mircea
English: The official announcement has been made: I Hate This Part will be the next official single worldwide. I don't know where this lives WTAT, but I'm happy with their choice. I really think it's gonna boost the album sales, just like the previous record. Hiting radios: 21st October (AllAccess).
So, considering the fact that it's going to be promoted in every country, live performances are expected from the girls. One of them already took place on a morning show in Sidney, Australia. Seems like they decided to turn all the mics on and sing, seeing that the performance can't be done only with Nicole singing. I've posted the performance for you down low. And a link with 'When I Grow Up' (live at the same show). Amazing, as usual :X. One moving performance, where Nicole cries her heart out (she actually does). Check it out and let me know what you think.
Hate it or love it?

Romanian: Anuntul oficial a fost facut: I Hate This Part va fi cel de-al doilea single oficial in toata lumea. Va ajune la radio, tot in State bineinteles, pe 21 octombrie (AllAccess).
Una a avut loc deja la un show matinal in Sidney, Australia. Si aveti si un link cu 'When I Grow Up' (tot acolo). Super tari fetele, ca de obicei :X. Un show emotionant chiar, in care Nicole chiar a inceput sa planga la sfarsit (plans pe bune). uitati-va si voi si spuneti-mi ce credeti.
