So... as predicted last week, The Black Eyed Peas have taken the top spot on the Top 100 with 'Boom Boom Pow', earning 465.000 digital downloads in one week only and managing to gain a few more spots on Mediabase (airplay), reaching number 8... for now. It's good to see them on top. And keep in mind that this is their first ever number 1! And like I told you in a previous post, Kid Cudi has now caught up with the top 10 pack and gets the No. 7 this week with 'Day'N'Nite'. The other new entry in this leader group are The Fray, with 'You Found Me', climbing 14-9.
Four new entries in the Top 200 album sales this week: Prince goes in directly at No. 2 with his 3-CD release, Diana Krall with 'Quiet Nights' is at 3; a little bit lower comes 'UGK 4 Life' and Flo Rida manages to sell only 55k copies of 'R.O.O.T.S', which earn him the 8th spot. Since last week, Keri's album sales have dropped 33%, so she gets knocked down 4-11... her world is not so perfect anymore... lol!
No big surprises this time around and the favourites have each earned their place in the chart. Now we'll have to wait and see if next week will arrive with any new stuff...
Another week has passed and changes have taken place a lot in this week's charts. After.. I dunnow..9 or 10 weeks atop the Hot 100, Flo Rida has fallen one spot to number 2, and handed the trophy to Lady GaGa's 'Pokerface', making this young lady the first artist in 10 years to reach first place with the first too singles released. Surprisingly, Soulja Boy & Sammie hang in there at number 3, surpassing far more popular duo T.I. & JT. And the other Justin collabo, Ciara's 'Love Sex Magic' takes a 27-10 leap being the sales gainer of the week.
As for the album sales, the 'Now That's What I Call Music' compilation storms in at #1 with aprox. 150k units sold. Keri's first album is in directly at number 4 with 94k, making her debut a succesful one and Lady GaGa scores another hit just by simply holding on at number 7, with 45000 copies sold (more than some artist sell in the first week... lol).
So, important week for some and a let down for others. All we know for sure is that GaGa will enjoy the sweet taste of victory one week only, thanks to the Black Eyed Peas, who will land directly at 1, making 'Boom Boom Pow' their first chart-topper ever, after more than 400.000 digital downloads, not even counting the airplay. And beware of Prince's 3-disc release, threatening to rule the album chart.
For the sixth week in a row Flo Rida dominates the Top100 with 'Right Round'. Really worthy song... it deserves its place atop.
This week the top 5 spots are consistent with non-movers, as you can see, and once more, T.I. & JT are stuck in 2nd place..damn! Miley Cyrus is way up high with a strong debut at number 7 with 'The Climb'. Seems like her audience has grown from little children to the entire US...lol.
U2 starts this week at number 1 in album sales, selling 479k units of 'No Line on the Horizon' and Taylor Swift is finally down a notch.
I spot Lady GaGa gaining some nice sales there and rising up in the chart at number 4.
Will Flo Rida manage to stay on top for a 7th consecutive week?
Another week passed but the Billboard Top 100 didn't manage to change its number 1. Flo Rida is still keeping up there with the hot single 'Right Round'. T.I., even though he's the airplay gainer of the week still doesn't manage to hit the top spot once more. A track that has had a lot of digital sales is Soulja Boy's 'Kiss Me Thru the Phone' which is curently at number 7, breaking the top 10 barrier.
In the Top 200, the same deal; Taylor Swift is again the undisputed leader as 4 artist manage to sell just enough copies to hit the top 10 once more or for the first time in some cases: Beyonce (5), Jamie Foxx (6), Kanye West (8) and Lady GaGa (10) are the ones that knocked off other pretenders from the front pack.
Nice fights going on in the U.S. Curious to see if Flo Rida will be able to hang in there for another week.
It's about time I bring you the Billboard update once more, as it's been missing from my blog for quite some time..still..can't quite figure out the reason why...lol.
Lots of stuff happening across the ocean. Lady GaGa has finally reached the top spot with her debut single, 'Just Dance', about a month ago; Kelly Clarkson broke another record, jumping from 97 to 1, after 280.000 digital sales of her comeback single, 'My Life Would Suck Without You'; also..Eminem's brand new single, 'Crack A Bottle', managed to reach #1, but only for a week, as it has been replaced by one of the most requested songs these last few days, Flo Rida's 'Right Round'.
T.I.'s & Beyonce's take over in the top 4 places is currently over, but they're both back with new singles, so..we'll wait and see. T.I. is already back at #2 with 'Dead and Gone'. Right now, GaGa scores 2 hits in the Top 10 and one constant character keeps moving around there, without getting to the top, Kanye West.
Album-wise, Taylor Swift is the leader by far in these past weeks; tailing right behind her are Robert Plant & Allison Krauss who sold more than ever after their Grammy streak. Lily Allen's sophomore effort bumps directly into #5 and Bobby Valentino's 'The Rebirth' is also a newbie at #8.

T.I. is currently 'livin' his life' on the second place. I think that they'll kinda trade places in the next couple of weeks.
Kanye rises atop the Hot200 this week selling 450k of his '808's & Heartbreak'. Now that's very low considering the fact that his previous too albums, 'Late Registration' & 'Graduation' sold aprox. 860k and aprox. 1 million units for the latter, only in the first week. And the expectations were high for this one. Somewhere at 750k. Still, it's a success.
Taylor Swift 'swifts' right at number 2 this week.
